We’ve all that feeling right? When you feel that life is frustrating…going nowhere…whatever we do it always feels like it amounts to nothing? Francis Alys sums all these emotions up and more. Taking an almost child-like approach to his artistic experiments, his inhibitions stop him from nothing…from diving into the heart of tornados, moving mountains to creating a green line - by walking the route with an open can of green paint, the demarcation mapping the armistice boundary through Jerusalem that Moshe Dayan drew on the a map in green pencil after the Israel-Arab war of 1948. Truly to quote him, “Sometimes doing something poetic can become political, and sometimes doing something political can become poetic” Now that’s something to say amen to.
